
AUSTIN – Andrew DeHennis led a quartet of Pirates Tuesday at the Inaugural Linda Lowery Invitational hosted by Concordia University at Falconhead Golf Club.
DeHennis opened the Invitational with a 77 on Monday but along with the rest of the field, the rookie Pirate finished seven strokes higher on day two. He closed out his round on Tuesday with a two day total of 161 to earn a top 30 finish.
James Grachos, Michael Gebhardt and Connor Murphy joined DeHennis at the two day Invitational as the Pirates did not field a full team to earn team scores.
Grachos finished with a two day total of 164 as he was one of the few golfers to lower his score on Tuesday and tied for 34th.
Gebhardt fired an 86 and 82 to finish at 168 and earn a top 50 finish while Murphy finished the Invitational at 92-97.
Southwestern returns to action as a team at West Cup at La Verne, Calif. The second annual intercollegiate tournament will feature a host of top teams from not only the west region but across Division III.
