Men's golf places 19th at Jekyll Island Collegiate

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - Southwestern competed against the top teams in the nation and finished in 19th place after the three day event. 

Andrew DeHennis led the way for Southwestern with 220 strokes to come in tied for 42nd. He shot a 74 to open the event the posted a two-under-par 70 and closed with a 76.

Rhodes College's Joey Mayo won the individual title with a 205 while LaGrange College took the team title with a 859 combined team score. 

Tyler Gammill had two really strong rounds to finish tied for 56th with a 222 (71-78-73) while Matthew Christl came in tied for 76th with 225 strokes (77-74-74). 

Devon Horne shot a 230 (77-75-78) and Cody Hebert a 231 (79-77-75). 

Southwestern has one final tune-up before the SCAC Championships as they host the West Region Invitational beginning on April 4th at Berry Creek Country Club.
