
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Southwestern closed out their fall season in a big way, moving up two spots to finish in second place at the Alamo City Classic on Tuesday.
SU shaved 12 strokes off their opening round, shooting a 293 on the final day, to finish with 598 strokes. UT Tyler took first with a 575.
James Charles blazed to the finish with a team low 70 on day two to finish tied for seventh with a 147 (77-70). Cameron Button shot a 73 and 76 (149) to come in 11th place overall and Jordan Cowart posted a 152 (75-77) to finish tied for 14th.
The other big difference makers of the day were Cody Hebert and Mikey Vaughan. Hebert improved nine strokes on day two to come in with a 153 (81-72) and teid for 19th while Vaughan took off five strokes for a 24th place finish with 155 strokes (80-75).
The Classic marks the end of the fall season for Southwestern. They return to the links on March 11 & 12 for the TLU Invitational.
