
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Playing only the final nine holes on Sunday, the Southwestern University men's golf team shot a two round total of 597 (+21), shooting a 303 in the second round, to finish 11th at the Royal Lakes Invitational.
Greenboro won the invite with a two round score of 579 (+3) while Emory placed second at 583 (+7). Carnegie Mellon placed third with a total of 585 (+9) while North Carolina Wesleyan was fourth at 586 (+10). Oglethorpe and Birmingham-Southern tied for fifth with a two round score of 590 (+14).
Junior Matthew Christl placed ninth at the even after shooting a 71 (-1) on Sunday for a two-round score of 143 (-1) including an eagle on 18. Sophomore Cade Osgood shot a 73 (+1) to place 14th with a two round score of 144 (E). Senior Tyler Gammill shot a 73 (+1) for a two round score of 151 (+7).
Rounding out the scoring was junior Devon Horne with a two round score of 159 (+15) and sophomore Andrew Augustine with a two round score of 166 (+21).
Southwestern will prep for their final fall even to fthe season on October 23rd as they head to Diamondback Golf Club for the Abilene Intercollegiate.
