Pirates fall from contention; Hebert snags individual spot

Southwestern closed the second round with a combined score of 613 and in 22nd place after posting a 310 on day two, ending their run in the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.

Despite not making the cut as a team, Cody Hebert earned a spot in the finals by winning a playoff on the first hole with a six foot putt.

Hebert shot an even par 72 to finish with a four over par 148 and tied for 28th. Connor Murphy was back to form with a 75 today to finish tied for 95th with 154 strokes. Sutherland Stith came in tied for 114th with 156 strokes (75-81) while Tyler Gammill posted a 158 (74-84) to come in tied for 125th. Jordan Cowart closed out SU with a 160 (78-82) for 146th (tied).

Hebert will vie for the title as he tees off at 8:15am tomorrow.
