
TUNICA, Miss. – Jordan Cowart battled to stay close to even par at the Rhodes College Fall Classic earning a top 10 finish for the Southwestern University men's golf team on Monday.
Cowart fired a 73-72 to finish +1 for the tournament with a 145 total. His sixth place finish was the only top 10 mark for the Pirates just one week after all five individual's earned top 10 finishes.
As a team, Southwestern finished seventh after a team total of 599 while first place Rhodes College fired a 587 to claim the win. All teams in the top 10 were within 20 strokes of the leader as Wittenburg finished second with a 590, followed by UT-Tyler with a 591 in third place.
Cody Hebert battled back in his second round to shoot a 73 after a first round 75. Hebert finished with a 148 and was the only Pirate to finish in the top 20 at 18th.
James Grachos shot a 152 to finish 36, while Cameron Button fired a 154 to finish tied for 50th.
Southwestern returns to Texas as they compete next week at the Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational in Killeen, Texas.
