Pirates take third at John Bohmann Memorial Invitational

SEGUIN, Texas - Southwestern shot the second lowest round of the day to finish in third overall with 879 strokes at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational Tuesday. 

Texas Lutheran won the event with an 863 combined score and Kraig Zimmerhanzel took the individual title with a 208 (72-71-65).

Senior Cody Hebert led the Pirates, posting two sensational rounds to close the invitational with a 219 (77-71-71) and tied for eighth place. First-year Devon Horne matched the lowest SU round with a 69 on day two to end tied for 14th with 221 strokes (76-76-69). First-year Matthew Christl continued his strong play to end with 222 strokes (80-69-73) and tied for 17th place. 

Junior Connor Murphy posted a 226 (76-75-75) for the tournament while Andrew DeHennis finished with a 229 (71-79-79). 

Individual Tyler Gammill came in tied for eighth with a 219 (72-72-75) and Curtis Cuccia finished with a 232 (80-77-75). 

Southwestern next heads to Tunica National Golf Resort to compete in the Rhodes College Men's Fall Collegiate Golf Classic beginning on September 20th.
