First round play suspended at SCAC Golf Championship

First round play suspended at SCAC Golf Championship

BLANCO, Texas – After the third rain delay of the day after a delayed start the course ambassadors called for the suspension of play during the first round of the SCAC Golf Championship.

  • Both the men's and women's teams had the first few groups complete the round, but the remained of the teams were still out on the course when play was officially called for the day.
  • The championship was slated to begin at 8 am, but rain forced tee times to be pushed back two and a half hours.
  • On the women's side, Bernice Leonard is tied for first place at four over par through 14 holes. As a team the Pirates are in third and are just three strokes off the lead.
  • For the men, Tyler Gammill leads the way with a two under par 51 through 13 holes. Gammill eagled #11 after sinking a shot from 200+ yards out.
  • The men are in first place thus far, holding a slight advantage over Schreiner and Trinity.
