Men’s golf finishes third at John Bohmann Invite

SEGUIN, Texas – The Southwestern University men's golf team saw a pair of top 10 finishes from Tyler Gammill and Cody Hebert as the Pirates finished third at the 2014 John Bohmann Invitational.

Gammill finished tied for fifth as he struggled on day two of the Invitational to post a 74 and carry a 210 into the clubhouse. He started Monday off with a sizzling 65 to take a first round lead, but cooled off as Jimmy Keener of defending national champions, Schreiner took home team champion honors.

Hebert finished 9th as he gave the Pirates consistency through all three rounds with scores of 71-71-70 to finish just two strokes behind Gammill.

Southwestern also got outstanding first round from Connor Murphy who posted an impressive 69 on Monday as Jordan Cowart and Andrew DeHennis carded 70 and 71 respectively. However the trio couldn't duplicate the below par numbers with Cowart finishing 16th and Murphy and DeHennis placing tied for 17th.

The Pirate men face a quick turnaround as they head to Tunica, Miss., to take aim at the Rhodes Collegiate Classic.
