
SEGUIN, Texas — The Southwestern University Pirates men's golf team opened its season with a fourth-place finish at the John Bohmann Memorial Invitational, scoring a 296 in the third round to finish with a score of 876 at 24 over par.
John Kellum scored a 75 in the final round, pacing the Pirates with a sixth-place finish on the individual leaderboard, scoring a 216 for the event to end it at three over par. He led the event with 41 pars.
Colin O'Hern scored a 72 to finish at five over with a 218 in a tie for 10th place. Cade Osgood shot 73 in all three rounds to finish six over with a 219 score.
No other Pirate finished in the top 20. Christian Rodriguez and Zane Warren finished with a 225 to finish in a four-wya tie for 30th.
McMurry University won the event, finishing one over par with a three-round score of 853, shooting a round-best 283 on the day and placing three of the top six individuals. Dallas followed at 865 and Trinity scored an 872. Trinity's Daniel Nunez topped the individual leaderboard with a 210.
