GEORGETOWN, Texas -- With a one-stroke lead, the Southwestern men's golf team took the West Regional invitational title in their home invitational at Berry Creek Golf course this Tuesday afternoon.

 

The Pirates had a final score of  888. Texas Lutheran, only one shot away from tieing Southwestern, totaled a score of 889 and earned second place in the tournament. 

 

Colin Uecker from Texas Lutheran won 1st in individuals for the tournament and Southwestern's Devon Horne received runner up in individual honors. Horne also had the most birdies out of the tournament with a total of 14. 

 

The rest of the Pirates men's golf team who placed in the top 20 were:  Matthew Christl at 72, Cade Osgood at 74, Sutherland Stith at 75, and Thomas Kuznar at 77.

 

Up next the Pirates travel to Kerrville, Texas, to compete in the  ASC Preview, a one-day, 36-hole tournament on Monday, April 8, at The Club at Comanche Trace.
