GEORGETOWN -- Southwestern University senior, Jordan Cowart earned his second SCAC Golfer of the Week honor as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Cowart finished 8th after posting his fourth career sub-60 round on Monday at the Gordin Classic. Each year the Gordin Classic features the nation's best teams including the top 10 teams from last year's national championship and is arguably one of the toughest NCAA Division III tournaments.
The Austin native went below par on Monday to fire a 69 in his morning round, but a 77 pushed him away from the leaders after round two. He rallied to post a 73 on Tuesday and finished at +3 and 13 strokes back from the individual champion.
The Pirates return to the course next week at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Invitational at Royal Lakes Golf Club. The men tee of October 6 in Flowery Branch, Ga.
