Seguin, Texas - The Southwestern men's golf team began their fall season strong this week at Starke Park Golf Course in Seguin, Texas with a 1st place finish.

During round one of the John Bohmann Invitational, Ricky Mitchell led the Pirates with a 6-under 65 with Bryce Stiemert (70), Matthew Peesker (70) and Sam McClure (73) rounding out the team score for the morning to shoot 278. During the second round, Sam McClure posted a two-under 69 to lead the Pirates along with Bryce Stiemert (70) and Matthew Peesker (70) to shoot a 283 for round two. Following day one, the Pirates held the lead with one round to play.

Day two brought more difficult conditions for the Pirates but they were able to shoot a team total of 287 - led by Ricky Mitchell (69) to finish in 1st place overall. Ricky Mitchell finished tied for 3rd individually with a three-round total of 208. 

The Pirates will compete again at the Rhodes College Invitational in Tunica, Mississippi on September 24-25.
