Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at Rhodes College Fall Collegiate Classic

TUNICA, Miss. — Southwestern men's golf dropped to fifth place to wrap up the Rhodes College Fall Invitational, scoring a 301 in the third round to finish its first event of the season with an 891. 

Nicholas Hoisington led Southwestern as the only Pirate in the top 10, tying for No. 10 with a three-round score of 219 after scoring a 75 in the third round. 

Thomas Kuznar and Christian Rodriguez rounded out the Southwestern golfers to finish in the top 20. Kuznar finished the third round with a 76, bringing his two-day score to 220, tied for No. 14. Rodriguez shot a 73 to move to a tie at No. 19. 

Bryce Stiemert scored a 229 in his first collegiate event, tying for No. 39. Austin Kelley scored a 240 to finished tied for No. 68. 

Huntingdon College won the event with a final score of 866, placing three golfers in the top five with Ethan Unverzagt pacing them at third with a 214. Webster's Will Hocker won the event with a 209, leading his team to a fourth-place finish. 

Southwestern will return to action on Monday, Sept. 20, for the John Bohman Invitational in Seguin, Texas.
