Men's golf wraps up Alamo City Classic in fourth

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Southwestern shaved five strokes off their first round but remained in fourth place to close out the Alamo City Classic Tuesday. 

Trinity University won the event on their home course with a 577 team score, 14 strokes ahead of SU. 

Matthew Christl posted the best round for the Pirates, shooting one-under-par for the tournament (73-70) and finished tied for fifth. 

Tyler Gammill tied for 11th at 148 strokes (76-72), Andrew DeHennis tied for 15th with 149 strokes (72-77) and Devon Horne rounded out Southwestern in the top 25 with 151 strokes (77-74) and tied for 18th. 

John Kellum had a strong showing as an individual, finishing tied for 15th with 149 strokes (74-75). 

Southwestern has one final tournament this fall. They head to Abilene on Monday for the two-day Abilene Intercollegiate.
