Pirates win home dual with solid team outing

GEORGETOWN – The Southwestern University men's golf team continued action over the weekend with a rare dual with the University of Dallas at Berry Creek Country Club.

The Pirates posted successful rounds with three of seven golfers posting rounds under 80 including a +1, 73 from Jordan Cowart. Cowart posted the lowest individual round with a 35 on the front nine followed by a 38 on the back nine.

Cameron Button and James Grachos also finished with sub-80 scores as Button posted a 75 and Grachos carded a 77. Cody Hebert finished his round with an 81 to round out the Pirates team score finishing with a 306.

Andrew DeHennis also finished in the top five with an 80 on Saturday.

University of Dallas totaled a team score of 361 and was led by Marcos Mratinez who carded an 84.

Southwestern returns to the course again against top competition from the West Region as they host the West Region Invitational. The teams will again take aim at Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown.
