Men's Golf Second After First Day of Schreiner Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas - The Southwestern University men's golf team shot an impressive 293 (+5) on Monday afternoon as they sit in second place, just two four strokes out of first, after the first round of the Schreiner Spring Shootout at Comache Trace.

Host Schreiner sits in the top spot after a 289 (+1) while Texas Lutheran is third with a team score of 299 (+11). Trinity is fourth with a score of 304 (+16) while Evangel (+22) and Dallas (+24) round out the team scoring.

Junior Devon Horne sits in second overall after shooting a 70 (-2) to lead the Pirates while sophomore Cade Osgood was fifth after shooting a 72 (E). Junior Matthew Christl and freshman Zane Warren each shot a 74 (+2) to sit in a tie for seventh while senior Sutherland Stith shot a 77 (+5). Senior Tyler Gammill rounded out the Pirates with a 78 (+6).

The Pirates will return to action for the final round on Tuesday morning as they look to climb up the scoreboard.
