Pirates show consistency at UMHB Fall Invite

GEORGETOWN – The Southwestern University men's golf team got consistent play to earn a fifth place finish Tuesday at the UMHB Fall Invitational at Cowan Creek Golf Club.

All five individuals that posted official scores for the Pirates finished in the top 30 including Erik Walinder who fired back-to-back rounds of 76 for a 152. Walinder tied for 20th and was just 10 strokes behind the individual champion Mats Heien from Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Andrew DeHennis finished tied for 24th and first-year Sutherland Stith picked up a 26th place finish for Southwestern. DeHennis improved on his second round with a 76 after a 77 on Monday to finish at 153 as Stith was one shot behind his teammate with a 154.

Omeed Azmoudeh finished 29th and rounded out the Pirate scoring with a 156 after rounds of 80-76.

Michael Gebhardt finished at 163 as the Pirates finished fifth in the Invitational.
