Men's golf in second after two rounds of West Region Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas - In their first home tournament of the season the Southwestern men's golf team performed well on their home course, finishing in second place after 36 holes. 

Southwestern's team score of 593 trails leader Mary Hardin-Baylor by 14 strokes. 

Tyler Gammill and Matthew Christl finished the day tied for fifth with 147 strokes with identical 73-74 round scores. Sutherland Stith posted a top ten finish after shaving four strokes off his opening round to post a 150 (77-73). Andrew DeHennis shot a 152 (74-78) to come in tied for 15th and Cade Osgood rounded out the team effort with a 153 (78-75) to finish tied for 21st. 

Curtis Cuccia, Andrew Augustine and John Kellum also competed as individuals for SU. Cuccia and Augustine posted a 159 (77-82) and Kellum a 169 (91-78). 

The Pirates will look to take over first place in the final round of action on Tuesday, beginning at 8:30 am.
