Poi appeared in 10 contests on the mound in his first season with the Pirates. In 15.1 innings of work he allowed 16 hits and 10 runs, nine earned, while walking 12 and striking out 11.
High School
Tyler, a two year letterman for the Indians of Keller High School, was both a Texas and AP scholar and was named as a captain of the baseball team his senior year.
Personal
Tyler is the son of Joe and Lori and has one sister, Brittany. Tyler is a chemistry major with a biology minor at SU.
