GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Baseball (22-15, 12-6) took to Rockwell Family Field on Thursday night for their final series of the season against the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs (21-14, 10-8). The Pirates, keen on ending their season with a series victory, took a step in that direction on Thursday, walking off the Bulldogs in the bottom of the ninth to take a 4-3 win after a hard-fought contest.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Ben Feuer was the man responsible for the walk-off hit. His hit to center field drove in Jacob Eccles on second base, giving the Pirates the fourth run of the game.
- Tres Organ had a second base hit bringing in two runs against TLU in the bottom of the second inning.
- Maxwell Mims gave the Pirates their second run of the game, bringing in Jake Harris on a single to right field. Mims is now two hits away from reaching 200 in his career.
NOTES
- Four Pirates had second base hits against the Bulldogs, including Alexander Cannata, Owen Stevenson, Organ and Mims.
- Andrew Hardin came in and pitched three innings, notching four strikeouts and allowing one hit and no earned runs.
- Greg Ferguson faced twenty-seven batters, collecting six strikeouts and three earned runs through six innings.
