GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Baseball (13-11) capped off an exciting series against the University of Dallas Crusaders (16-6) on Saturday afternoon. The Pirates, after dropping the first of three games to the Crusaders, rallied back to take two straight wins. The final victory of the series came after a clutch bottom of the eighth, where the Pirates scored four runs, securing an 8-4 lead going into what would be the final at-bat for the Crusaders. Southwestern allowed one run in the top of the ninth to bring the final score to 8-5 in favor of Southwestern.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Jacob Tanner led both teams in hits with four on the day, along with an RBI and two runs scored.
- Stephen Rutherford and Andrew Hardin combined for thirteen strikeouts on the mound, with Hardin earning the win for Southwestern.
- Maxwell Mims recorded one run scored, one hit, two RBIs, and one stolen base against Dallas.

- Six different Pirates drove in runs for Southwestern, with three Pirates scoring multiple runs.
- The Pirates committed no errors in the game and fielded 100% in their two wins.
