Baseball Advances to 6-1, Best Start Since 2005

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Baseball team continues their hot streak after defeating the University of Texas-Dallas Comets last night, climbing to 6-1 on the season, their best start to a year since 2005.

The Pirates put on a hitting clinic against the Comets with eight hits, nine runs, and seven RBIs. Six different Pirates had hits and Southwestern ran all over the comets with five stolen bases from four different players.

Southwestern found themselves down 4-3 at the top of the fifth inning. After the Pirates shut out the Comets in the top of the fifth, Southwestern banged in four runs to take a 7-4 lead on UT-Dallas and never looked back. The Pirate defense only allowed one run for the remainder of the game and tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth, riding out the rest of the game on their way to the 9-5 victory.
