GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - In the final game before SCAC conference action takes place, Southwestern Baseball (7-7) played a one-off contest against the Nichols College Bison (4-3). The Pirates released their bullpen against the Bison, throwing a combined eleven pitchers in the matchup in an effort to get their players time on the mound before the stretch of conference series starts. Nichols would end up taking a win from the Pirates, 12-4.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Catcher Liam Stonestreet led the Pirates in RBIs with two on one hit and one walk.
- Jake Tanner touched home plate twice against the Bison, scoring half the runs for the Pirates.
- Kyle Porter had the most strikeouts of the pitching lineup with two on back-to-back strikeouts in the top of the seventh.
NOTES
- Cale Cochran scored one run as well as a RBI, Jacob Eccles notched one hit, Wyatt Kuhlow got on base via a walk, and Sam Castillo also walked.
- Owen Stevenson got around the base path scoring one run off one hit.
- Ten different Pirates got on base against Nichols.
