GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Baseball (19-14, 9-6) opened up their series against the Austin College 'Roos (8-24, 1-13) on Thursday Night, moving their first contest up a day due to weather. The Pirate bats stayed hot coming off their last series as each starter for Southwestern put up a hit. The Pirates led 5-3 at the end of the fifth inning, and it would be all Pirates the rest of the way, scoring four runs in the top of the sixth, eventually beating the 'Roos 14-5.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Southwestern pitchers threw fifteen strikeouts against Austin, starting Pitcher Greg Ferguson threw eight strikeouts in six innings and Silas Jones threw seven in just three innings pitched.
- Maxwell Mims went 4/6 at the plate, hitting a three-run homer in the top of the sixth.
- Tres Organ went 4/5 with a second base hit and two RBIs.
NOTES
- Jake Tanner went for three RBIs on two hits in four at-bats
- Southwestern had twenty-one total hits. Seven different Pirates drove in runs and had multiple hits, with four having multiple RBIs.
- Stephen Landaz homered in the bottom of the ninth, bringing in Jacob Eccles.

- The Pirates will continue the series against Austin College on Friday, April 19th. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
