GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Baseball (4-5) took the field against DeSales University (4-4) on Tuesday night in a game that went the distance. It would take eleven innings for the Pirates to come away with the winning run and a 2-0 start to the week against the Bulldogs. Senior Sam Castillo got the last at-bat for the Pirates with the bases loaded and walked to bring in the fourth run of the game for Southwestern, leading them to a 4-3 victory.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Ryan Corbett went four innings for the Pirates, striking out five batters with three hits and no runs allowed.
- Andrew Hardin closed the game with five innings pitched, one run scored, and nine total strikeouts.
- The Southwestern defense turned two double plays in the game for their tenth of the season.
NOTES
- Maxwell Mims, Sam Castillo, and Tres Organ were the three Pirates logging RBIs.
- Mims and Organ hit Sac Fly's in the first and sixth innings, bringing in Jake Harris and Jacob Tanner, respectively.
- Southwestern went eight innings without opposing runs scored throughout the game.
