Pirates Battle DeSales in 11 Inning Win

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern Baseball (4-5) took the field against DeSales University (4-4) on Tuesday night in a game that went the distance. It would take eleven innings for the Pirates to come away with the winning run and a 2-0 start to the week against the Bulldogs. Senior Sam Castillo got the last at-bat for the Pirates with the bases loaded and walked to bring in the fourth run of the game for Southwestern, leading them to a 4-3 victory. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ryan Corbett went four innings for the Pirates, striking out five batters with three hits and no runs allowed.
  • Andrew Hardin closed the game with five innings pitched, one run scored, and nine total strikeouts. 
  • The Southwestern defense turned two double plays in the game for their tenth of the season.
