Martin had a sensational first season for the Pirates, starting all 35 contests he appeared in. In 142 at bats he posted 45 hits for a .317 batting average. He led the team in hits (45), runs scored (27) and tied for first for the most doubles (7) while drawing the second most walks on the team (14-tied). Martin was an All-SCAC Honorable Mention selection.
Brett, a 2010 graduate of Taylor High School in Katy, TX, earned first team All District honors as a first baseman his junior year and participated in the Texas 5A junior All Star game.
Personal
Brett's senior year he was named first team All District pitcher. Brett is the son of Steve and Sheree and has one brother, Lance. Brett is a kinesiology major at SU.
