Rhoads is a 2013 graduate of Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth, RI. During his high school career he played tennis and football. While on his tennis team, he served as the varsity tennis Team Captain during his senior year.

Rhoads is the son of Alane Sauder and James MacGuire and has one brother Pierce. He is currently undecided on his major at Southwestern University.
