Men's Tennis Falls To Trinity 3-6 On The Road

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -  The Men's Tennis team traveled to San Antonio, TX for their conference matchup up against the No. 6 nationally ranked Trinity Tigers. While the Pirates battled, they fell short to the Tigers who won 6-3. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Oscar Roy came through with a big singles/doubles sweep for the Pirates, winning his singles match 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 by taking the third-set tiebreaker 7-5 over Jared Perry. Roy came in ranked No. 4 in the region and Perry No. 6, making the win a huge one for his singles resume.
  • Roy and Joseph Snyman, who are ranked No. 7 in doubles in the region also paired up for an 8-6 win over the No. 9 ranked team from Trinity.
  • Travis Rafferty added an impressive 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles, while Ryan Flanagan was right there at No. 6, where he dropped a tight 7-6, 6-4 decision, and Bernardo Clemente also had a close 6-4, 6-4 defeat at No. 5.

NEXT UP

With a week to prepare for a possible rematch, the Pirates will try to make adjustments and swing the close decisions their way in the SCAC Tournament. First, they host the final home match of the year on Sunday at 10:00 AM CDT versus Colorado College.
