Men's Tennis Defeated by Wesleyan

Men's Tennis Defeated by Wesleyan

Southwestern Men's Tennis was defeated by Wesleyan in Orlando, Florida at the USTA National Campus. The Pirates put up a fight but lost 6-3.

The Pirates were down 1-2 after doubles but were clearly still in the match. Bernardo Clemente and Parth Patel battled their opponents at line two doubles and came out with a win, getting the Pirates' first point of the day. This was an outstanding performance by Clemente and Patel.

Entering singles, the Pirates were ready to play hard to come back from 1-2 down. The energy was high and the men's team was amped up. Throughout the course of singles, Oscar Roy and Anton Borovik gained the final two points for the Pirates both in third sets. Borovik performed with tons of energy and started his match determined to win. Roy was focussed on gaining a point for the Pirates while also cheering on his teammates from his court.

While the Southwestern Men's Tennis team battled hard, they did not quite get the win. This was a competitive match that better got the Pirates ready for what is to come during conference and the level of play that will be expected.

Once again, be sure to mark your calendars for the Conference Tournament which will be held here at Southwestern University on April 28-30, at the Pirates' home courts!
