Men's Tennis has a Double Header defeating both Coe College and Illinois Tech

Southwestern Men's Tennis had an outstanding day performing extremely well in back to back matches. The Pirates defeated Coe College and Illinois Tech 9-0. 

During doubles against Coe College, the men swept all courts, getting a 3-0 lead for the Pirates! Steven Tibbetts and Anton Borovik breezed through their match at line three doubles, winning 8-2. Bernardo Clemente and Parth Patel along with Oscar Roy and Ashton Ellis had convincing wins at line one and line two doubles.

Entering singles with a 3-0 lead, the men knew they could not let off the gas. The Pirates stayed positive and went out, executing everything they knew how to do.

Travis Rafferty had a great win at line six singles. Rafferty won 6-3, 6-1. In addition, Southwestern Men's Tennis Captain Daniel Haley and Ryan Flanagan both had huge wins at line five and line three. These men went out and got the job done. 

Later in the day, doubles against Illinois Tech began. The Pirates, once again, gained all three doubles points. The teams of Oscar Roy and Ashton Ellis, Bernardo Clemente and Anton Borovik, and Steven Tibbetts and Sebastian Herrera all won comfortably in all three doubles matches. 

Following the three doubles points gained by the Pirates and after defeating Coe College earlier in the morning, the confidence among the men was extremely high! The singles matches were a sweep across all courts, just as the score showed this morning.
