Southwestern Men's Tennis defeated Colby College at home on March 23, 2023. The Pirates fought through the very end to win 5-4.  

In doubles, the men had some tough matches but were able to win two out of three courts. Jared Burton and Steven Tibbetts had an impressive win at line three doubles (8-6), gaining the first point for the Pirates. Bernardo Clemente and Parth Patel got the second point for the Pirates, winning 8-4 at line two. After doubles, the Pirates were up 2-1 giving them confidence as they started singles.

Entering singles, the tension was high but the Pirates remained calm. The men had lots of determination to do everything to win. The energy was high across all courts and everyone was encouraging each other.

The Pirates won line three, four, and six. At line three, Steven Tibbetts battled in three sets to win, 6-7, 6-1, 6-3. Tibbetts earned a crucial point for the Pirates, along with Ashton Ellis at line four who won, 7-6, 7-6. Ellis also had an absolute battle but was able to find a way! Clinching at line six, last court on, Anton Borovik won, 6-2, 7-5. 

Once again, the Southwestern Men's Tennis team had an outstanding performance and was able to battle to victory, 5-4. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Conference Tournament which will be held here at Southwestern University, April 28-30, at the Pirates' home courts!
