Bajoit Reaches Milestone, Men's Tennis Advances to Semifinals

KERRVILLE, Texas — Hunter Bajoit won two matches to tie the second-most career wins in Southwestern men's tennis history and the Pirates swept Texas Lutheran 6-0 to advance to the SCAC Tournament semifinals.

After Vesko Lekovic and Hemanshu Rambojun posted an 8-2 win over Simon Carandang and Aaron Salinas at No. 1 doubles, the Pirates scored a pair of 8-1 wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles.

Bajoit and Steven Tibbetts defeated Hunter-Kemball Cook and Joshua Huang, and Jared Burton and Oscar Roy were victorious against Dristana Weaver and Quinn Johnson.

"Jared and Oscar played together for the first time in a while and looked great at No. 3 doubles," Southwestern head tennis coach Billy Porter says.

Roy scored a quick 6-1, 6-0 victory over Salinas at No. 5 singles, Lekovic bested Weaver 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3, and Bajoit picked up the 6-1, 6-1 over Cook at No. 1 singles.

"Vesko played good singles today and got us an important point in doing so. It was great to have him back in the lineup again," Porter says. "Hunter got two wins today and one right at the buzzer to tie Dean Dulthummon '20 for second in career wins with 129."

Southwestern will play Colorado College in the semifinals tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. after the Tigers defeated Austin College 5-0.
