GEORGETOWN, Texas — Southwestern men's tennis utilized the depth of its roster and new combinations to defeat the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs 9-0.

All three Southwestern doubles combinations picked up an 8-0 win. Hunter Bajoit and Vesko defeated Texas Lutheran's Matthew Stephenson and Ryan Schulte in No. 1 singles, and Alexander Joseph and Steven Tibbetts, and Carlos Esteban Rodero and Max Pearson won in doubles no. 2 and 3.

"Vesko and Hunter slid up a spot and did a great job with their first volleys, which is something we worked on all week," head coach Billy Porter said. "Max Pearson played his first match in 14 months and it was so exciting to see him back out on the court again."

The Pirates swept singles with Bajoit, Estben Rodero, Pearson, and Guarin each winning 6-0 straight sets.

"Nico Guarin got his first-ever college win and was a great moment for him being the last match on," Porter said.

With the win, Southwestern improves to 4-1. The Pirates will host NCAA Division I Prairie View on Tuesday, March 9, at 5:00 p.m.
