Southwestern Men's Tennis defeated Hendrix College 8-1 this past Sunday, March 19, 2023. The Pirates battled on every court, playing with loads of confidence. 

Getting up 2-1 during doubles played quite the role in the Pirates' success! Sophomore Oscar Roy and Freshman Sebastian Herrera performed well at line two doubles. The communication was fantastic and the chemistry was natural. Sophomore Jared Burton and Senior Captain Steven Tibbetts also had a very impressive win at line three doubles, controlling the points and playing with high energy. 

Entering singles up 2-1, the Pirates maintained the high and positive energy well without getting too comfortable. They knew they had not won yet and anything could happen.  The encouragement across the courts was electric. Freshman Rylan Hastings had a tough match at line five singles but grasped the win, 6-4, 7-6. Sophomore Captain Daniel Haley breezed through his match winning, 6-1, 6-2. Lines one through four all won in straight sets. Steven Tibbetts had a battle at line one but did not give up, winning 6-1, 7-6.
