The NCAA released its bracket for the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championship, matching Southwestern senior Hunter Bajoit against Case Western Reserve University first-year Ansh Shah.

Shah boasts a 29-6 record in his first season, including a 17-2 record in dual matches with a 13-2 record at No. 3 singles for the national runner-up Case Western Reserve to win the University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year. He posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Anton Borovik at No. 3 singles in Case Western's win over Southwestern.

"Hunter drew the No. 3 player from national runner-up Case Western. [Shah's] only losses this spring are to scholarship programs, and he became an All-American this fall at the ITA Cup," Southwestern head tennis coach Billy Porter says. "He's a very talented lefty who presents an interesting matchup for Hunter."

This tournament is Bajoit's second NCAA Singles Championship, making him the first two-time NCAA singles qualifier in Southwestern's men's program's history. Bajoit posted a 16-6 singles record in dual matches, playing exclusively at the No. 1 spot.

Bajoit and Shah will play on Friday, May 27, at 7:45 AM CST. This year's singles championship is hosted by the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
