Southwestern Men's Tennis defeated Kenyon in Orlando on Saturday, March 11, 2023. The Pirates fought through the very end to win 5-4.

In doubles, the men had some tough matches but were able to win two out of three courts. Oscar Roy and Ashton Ellis had an impressive seven point breaker win at line one doubles, gaining the second point for the Pirates. After doubles, the Pirates were up 2-1 giving them confidence as they started singles.

Entering singles, the tension was high but the Pirates remained calm. The men had lots of determination to do everything to win after losing their previous match. The energy was high across all courts and everyone was encouraging each other.

At line one singles, Freshman Bernardo Clemente clinched in a third set. The boys were able to rally from 2-4 down, and with the support of all of his teammates, Clemente was able to win the last match the Pirates needed to defeat Kenyon. This was an extremely impressive win by Clemente. Check out @supiratestennis twitter for a clip of the winning point!

Once again, the Southwestern Men's Tennis team had an outstanding performance and was able to battle to victory, 5-4. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Conference Tournament which will be held here at Southwestern University, April 28-30, at the Pirates' home courts!
