The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its men's tennis all-conference team and postseason awards, naming Southwestern's Hunter Bajoit as SCAC Co-Player of the Year alongside Trinity's Cameron Krimbill.

"Hunter flipped the switch about a year and a half ago, and his results have only improved since then," head coach Billy Porter said. "He's arguably our hardest worker and couldn't be any more deserving of this award."

Bajoit, a junior from The Woodlands, Texas, posted a 12-1 mark, including a perfect 11-0 mark at No. 2 singles. Bajoit is currently the third-ranked singles player in the West Region. He earned SCAC Player of the Week honors in Week 4 after picking up a win (6-1, 6-3) over NCAA Division I Prairie View A&M's Juan Viada in No. 2 singles. The SCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2019, Bajoit also received an an-large individual invitation to represent Southwestern at the NCAA Singles Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee, beginning May 24.

Krimbill, a senior from Scottsdale, Ariz., is currently 11-7 overall this season, including a 7-3 mark at No. 1 singles, and is ranked No. 1 in the West Region among all men's players. Both picked up three first-place votes in the Player of the Year balloting, with Trinity's Hao Nguyen receiving the remaining first-place nod.

The two stalwarts met three times this year, with Krimbill picking up a 6-4, 6-1 victory during the regular season and Bajoit earning a 6-4, 6-3 win at the SCAC Tournament. In what proved to be the rubber match between the two, Krimbill earned the season series nod by securing a 6-4, 6-2 over Bajoit in the Round of 16 team competition at the NCAA Tournament this past weekend.

Bajoit is the second Southwestern student-athlete in program history to earn Player of the Year honors, following former teammate Alexis Dimanche, who took home the league's top honor following the 2018 season.

Alexander Joseph joined Bajoit on the All-SCAC First Team. Joseph, a senior from Colleyville, Texas, went 11-2 this season, including 10-1 at No. 3 singles.

"Alex is the heart and soul of our team," Porter said. "The intensity he brings to practice every day makes his teammates so much better and elevates his own game while doing so."

Steven Tibbetts earned All-SCAC Second Team with a 12-2 record, going 10-2 at No. 5 singles.

"Steven is a rock for us at the bottom of our lineup and is such a tough out for his opponents," Porter said. "He spent a lot of extra time working on his serve this season, and I'm glad to see him get rewarded for his hard work."

Southwestern placed two duos on the All-SCAC Doubles First Team. Freshman Drew Shuvalov and senior Carlos Rodero Esteban went 6-6 this season, including 4-1 against conference opponents, all from No. 1 doubles. They were the SCAC Week 7 Doubles Team of the Week.

"Carlos and Drew had an up and down year overall but were outstanding against SCAC opponents, going undefeated against them in the regular season," Porter said.

Junior Vesko Lekovic and Bajoit were 16-1 this season, including 14-1 from No. 2 doubles. They were named to the SCAC All-Tournament Team and the SCAC Week 4 Doubles Team of the Week.

"Vesko and Hunter were unstoppable this season, going 16-1 at No. 2," Porter said. "For Vesko to not have been a consistent starter for us the last two years in the doubles lineups to having this level of a season is a testament to his drive to get better."

Southwestern posted a 15-3 record this season, ranking second in the West Region and earning its first NCAA Tournament bid, advancing to the Sweet 16.
