Roy and Ellis Ranked 7th in ITA National Doubles Rankings

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association ("ITA") has released the NCAA Division III Men's ITA Collegiate Tennis National and Regional Rankings for November 17, 2022.

National Rankings include the Top 50 singles players and Top 25 doubles teams, while the Regional Rankings include the Top 20 singles players and Top 10 doubles teams.

Southwestern University men's tennis players Oscar Roy (So.) and Ashton Ellis (Fr.) have earned a top 10 ranking in the DIII ITA National Doubles Rankings, securing the 7th spot on the list. Roy and Ellis also achieved the number two spot in the West region. Roy and Ellis played their way into the top 10 at the Southwest Regional Doubles Championship, winning the regional championship despite not even being seeded in the tournament. Ellis and Roy's win promoted them to All-American status, and they became the first men in Southwestern's history to win an ITA Regional Championship. Roy and Ellis advanced to the ITA Cup with their regional championship win. At the ITA Cup, the pair won their first-round match before being knocked out in the quarterfinals, losing to the pair that went on to win their bracket. 

Roy and Ellis continue to make Southwestern Men's Tennis history, earning the highest national doubles ranking in program history. 

Men's Tennis will kick off the spring season by hosting Austin College on Friday, February 10th, at 5:00 PM.
