
KERRVILLE, Texas – The second-seeded Southwestern men's tennis team cruised to a 5-0 victory over No. 7 seed Centenary in the opening round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Friday morning at the H-E-B Tennis Courts.
The Pirates (18-6) swept all three doubles matchups to grab an early advantage.
Rod Khansari then earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles to push the lead to 4-0. His brother, Neik Khansari, clinched the contest with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Jonathan Harrel at the second position.
Southwestern will advance to play third-seeded Schreiner, who edged No. 6 seed Texas Lutheran earlier in the day, 5-4. The Pirates and Mountaineers will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday.
