Pirates close out regular season with sweep of Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Southwestern University men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 9-0 victory over Centenary on Sunday.

The Pirates finished the regular season with a 17-6 mark and wins in 11 of their last 12 matches.

Southwestern dominated doubles action after changing up the lineup.

Will Ellis and Sam McCready improved to 13-5 on the year after logging an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles.

Neik and Rod Khansari teamed up for the first time this season and cruised to an 8-1 decision at the second position. AJ Garcia and Ayinde Hall also earned an 8-1 win at the third spot.

The Bucs also swept all six singles matchups.

David Strong won his sixth consecutive contest with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.

Southwestern will begin preparations for the SCAC Championships, which will take place April 22-24 in Kerrville.
