Pirates push win streak to eight after two wins on Saturday

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University men's tennis team ran its win streak to eight matches after it earned a pair of victories on Saturday at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts. The Pirates waited out a four-hour rain delay to defeat Texas A&M-Texarkana in the opening tilt, and then Southwestern cruised to an 8-1 decision over McMurry in the nightcap.

The Pirates (14-5) played to decision after dodging the rain in the first match of the day.

Southwestern swept all three doubles tilts and David Strong and Nickoloz Snovely both picked up singles victories before the contest ended.

In the nightcap, the Pirates again swept the three doubles matchups. Southwestern also won five of six singles tilts.

The War Hawks pick up their only point at No. 2 singles.

The Pirates will close out their home slate on Thursday, April 14 against Colorado College. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
