GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Men's Lacrosse team fell to the Tigers of Colorado College on Sunday in the Heartland Collegiate Atheltic Conference championship game, ending their season with a 9-9 record.

The Pirate's season ended with a 23-7 loss against the Tigers. The Pirates closed the first quarter trailing by one goal, but a lack of production from the faceoff X was detrimental to the Pirates gaining any momentum on offense. Colorado College ended the game with a 26-32 advantage on the faceoff. This advantage led to to 65 shots being generated for the Tigers with 41 of those being on cage.

Freshman goaltender Will Walsh did all he could do to limit the Tiger's attack, leaving the game with a career-high 19 saves. Walsh ended his freshman campaign with a 15.35 goal-allowed average, 119 saves and a 47.2 % save percentage in 13 games played.

Southwestern cleared the ball exceptionally well, going 16-19, and the Pirates were able to limit their turnovers to just ten in the contest. However, a tough Tiger defense only allowed fourteen shots on goal with nine saves.

In total, five different seniors put up points in their final game. Tyler Johnson finalized his career with three points (2Gs, 1A), while fellow senior midfielder Justin Macha had a goal in the contest. Will Thompson added the rare long-pole defender goal and Matt Caldwell closed out the senior scoring with a goal of his own. Jack Carolan ended the game with an assist to total at 46 points for the year.

Southwestern Lacrosse finished the year with a 7-4 home record and 2-3 on the road. In eighteen games, Southwestern concluded with 260 goals, 131 assists, and 14.44 goals per game.
