GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Men's Lacrosse team will take on Colorado College in the HCLC Championship final on Sunday, April 30th, at 11:00 AM CST. The Pirates took down Hanover in the HCLC semifinal game by a margin of 14-4. The Pirates are now 3-0 against Hanover since their time in the HCLC and will face off against Colorado College for the second year in a row. The last time Southwestern and Colorado met in the conference championship, Southwestern fell to the Tigers, 12-17.

Cade McDonald led the Pirates in the point-scoring category with four points (3Gs, 1A) on the afternoon, followed by senior midfielder Blake Sitterly who scored a hattrick on just six shots for a fifty percent shooting percentage. The senior attackman Jack Carolan matched Sitterly's point total with three assists in the contest. Senior midfielder Justin Macha was the last of the Pirates to put up three points on his stat line, gaining one goal and two assists in the semifinal game.

The scoring column was marked by fresh faces. Sophomore do-it-all midfielders Gabe Morgan and Declan O'Donnell both scored for the Pirates, notching one and two goals, respectively. Morgan went 17-21 on the faceoff with nine GBs securing possessions for the Pirates, who needed as many as they could get early in the game and coming out of halftime.

The Pirates accomplished an amazing feat in the game against the Panthers, Southwestern cleared at an almost impossible 100% for the game, a perfect 29-29. Southwestern will carry the momentum from their big semifinal win on Friday and try to do what the program has never accomplished so far, receiving a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
