Men's lacrosse routs Piedmont, 16-6

GEORGETOWN, Texas - A constant offense and suffocating defense led the Pirates to a 16-6 win over Piedmont College to close their home season.

Southwestern was tough early, outscoring Piedmont 4-0 in the first quarter and 4-1 in the second to lead 8-1 at halftime.

SU picked up where they left off after halftime, scoring the first two goals of the half to ensure the win.

Kai Knight-Turcan and Spence Bodenhamer paced the offense with four goals and four assists each, while Jared Welsh added four goals as well.

The Pirates move to 9-5 on the year and are just one win shy of tying their record for wins in a season. They will look to match their 2014 record against Colorado College on Friday, April 7th in Colorado Springs, Colo.
