The Southwestern University Pirates men's lacrosse team swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards in the season's opening weekend.

Reigning SCAC Offensive Player of the Year Zac Asbury picked up where he left off last season, producing nine points on five assists and four goals in the Pirates' 15-8 over the Hendrix Warriors in the season opener.

This is Asbury's third career SCAC Player of the Week award after winning twice last year in his sophomore season. Teammate Hudson Bearden was the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week. Southwestern is 1-0 to open the season and will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15 against Birmingham-Southern.
