
GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern swept a doubleheader from Austin College to open the three-game series on Friday at Rockwell Field. The Pirates won the opener in seven innings, 16-2, and rallied for an 11-6 triumph in the nightcap.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Ethan Hallmark hit three home runs in the doubleheader, including two in the series opener.
• Cole Kelly and Daniel Montgomery Jr. also hit homers in the nightcap.
• The Pirates pounded out 30 hits in the two games.
• Jeremy Rice (4-3) hurled a complete game to earn the win in game one.
• Hayden Holley (3-1) came out of the bullpen to post two scoreless frames and pick up the win in the second game.
COMING UP NEXT
Southwestern and Austin College will close out the series Saturday with a single game. First pitch has been moved up to 10 a.m.
