AUSTIN, Texas – Southwestern committed three errors and allowed four unearned runs in Saturday's 5-1 loss to No. 10 Concordia-Chicago at Tornado Field.
The game remained scoreless until the Cougars (1-2) broke through in the sixth inning on an error that allowed a pair of runners to cross the plate.
Concordia-Chicago picked up two more unearned runs in the following inning to take a 4-0 lead.
The Pirates (4-4) managed their only run in the eighth, as Colby Schmidt singled, driving in Robert Wehman.
The Cougars added their final tally in the ninth on a double.
Southwestern will play two games Sunday in Austin. The Pirates will again face Concordia-Chicago at 11 a.m. and then take on Concordia Texas at 2 p.m.
