Kelly Earns SCAC Hitter of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia - Cole Kelly, a senior infielder from Sugar Land, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for games played from Monday, March 25 through Sunday, March 31.

Kelly posted a 1.059 slugging percentage, going 7-for-17 at the plate (.412 BA) in a 2-2 week of non-conference action for the Pirates. In total, Kelly generated seven RBI, five runs, and five extra-base hits. The senior hit a homer and slugged over 1.000 in all three of Southwestern's games against East Texas Baptist. In game one of the double-header with ETBU, Kelly went 2-for-5 (.400 BA), amassing three RBI and two runs. Kelly came back for game two posting a .600 batting average (3-for-5) and a 1.400 slugging percentage with two RBI and a run scored. 

Other Outstanding Performances:

Junior catcher Cody Goggins of Austin College drove in 10 runs last week to lead the Roos' to a 2-3 record, posting a career-high six in game one of the doubleheader with Schreiner on Saturday. Trinity junior Rafe Chaumette went 6-for-13 at the dish (.462 BA) scoring five runs while knocking in six RBI in a 2-2 week for the Tigers. Freshman shortstop Joe Jimenez led Texas Lutheran to a 3-1 week with a .385 batting average (5-for-13), tallying five runs and three RBI.
